On Friday, October 14th, we held the first-ever Strategic Planning Session for our housing initiative, New Beginnings. Joined by staff, residents, board members, and alumni, we asked our key stakeholders to share their reflections on what works, what needs improvement, and what new ideas spark excitement regarding the current New Beginnings model.
The day was packed with insightful conversation and critical reflection, all meaningful first steps toward envisioning and supporting successes as the program expands and focuses.
We’re also excited to announce our fresh New Beginnings website! You can learn more about the program, read testimonials, and donate here.
We understand that reentering citizens face a complex matrix of needs, especially regarding housing, that’s why Hudson Link is leading the way in transitional housing for formerly incarcerated people by engaging our alumni in the renovations. Working side-by-side with trade professionals to gain real-world experience, our people help rebuild dilapidated houses near our central office in Ossining, NY that, after renovation, house other returning citizens.
Our New Beginnings program provides safe and stable temporary homes, free of charge, while our released alumni get back on their feet, and we’re endlessly grateful for the support of our community!
