Hudson Link staff, alumni, and supporters honored Paul Dinter at his retirement celebration on February 16th at our Boutique. Paul has dedicated many years to ensuring higher education is accessible in New York State correctional facilities.
Paul’s commitment to education dates back to serving as Catholic Chaplain at Columbia University from 1973 – 1988, during which time he received his Ph.D. in Biblical Studies from Union Theological Seminary. In the years since, he has taught at universities including Fordham University, Mt. St. Mary’s College, the Maryknoll School of Theology, Marymount Manhattan College, Mercy University, and Manhattan College. Before joining Hudson Link, Paul also served as the Bedford Hills College Program director. Paul is also a published author of multiple books.
To honor his commitment, values, and impact during his long career and his tenure as our Pre-College Coordinator, where he exemplified excellence, it was only fitting that we renamed our first New Beginnings home “The Paul Dinter House” to recognize Paul’s enduring dedication to enhancing the academic well-being of our students.
Paul was delighted by the gratitude expressed by his family and coworkers. The event featured superb food, raffle prizes consisting of autographed copies of Paul’s books, and guests reminiscing about memories from over the decades. We cannot thank you enough for your contributions to Hudson Link and the field of higher education in prison. We hope you have an excellent retirement, Paul; you deserve it!
