Hudson Link’s Spring Benefit: The Next Chapter

March 5, 2024 by Eric Adejuwon Leave a Comment

You may have heard this story before. In the void created by the elimination of Pell Grants for incarcerated people, Hudson Link was founded with just a handful of people and a vision for change. Now, more than 25 years later, we serve as a direct resource for thousands of currently and formerly incarcerated people and have assisted countless others in organizations like ours across the country and around the world – and this is only the beginning!

As we reflect on an amazing anniversary year, I could not be more thankful for the 25 years of support that has allowed us to grow into the organization we are today. As Hudson Link’s Board President, I look forward each year to celebrating those we serve, all working to change lives through the transformative power of education. Last year’s 25th Anniversary Celebration honored the limitless achievements of our students, alumni, professors, and staff through UnboundEd Legacies. This year’s theme, The Next Chapter, celebrates what’s to come.

We’re entering an era of expansion for higher education in prison both statewide and nationally, and Hudson Link has a major role to play in equity and access to these opportunities. While more students pursue their college dreams, the need for comprehensive reentry services and transitional housing for formerly incarcerated college graduates will only continue to grow. And our voice is needed more than ever in the policy conversations that are shaping the next generation of prison education. As we continue to create the Hudson Link story, I want to encourage you to keep writing it with us. To help us usher in The Next Chapter, we invite you to be a part of the 2024 Spring Benefit to be held on Wednesday, May 8th from 6-9 pm at Travelers Rest in Ossining.

You can co-author this adventure and invest in the future of Hudson Link. Please consider joining our Circle of Support by sponsoring our Spring Benefit at one of the levels detailed on our event website. For those who cannot sponsor but would like to join us for the event, individual tickets can be purchased here.

Here’s to the future: let’s write it, live it, and, most importantly, liberate it! I can’t wait to see what’s next.

Anticipating all that is to come,

Christian French
President, Hudson Link Board of Directors
