Established in 1998, Hudson Link has helped over a thousand incarcerated people make a positive impact on their own lives, their families, and communities, resulting in lower rates of recidivism, incarceration, and poverty. Hudson Link also provides released students with ongoing alumni services, as well as transitional housing through the New Beginnings program.
Hudson Link for Higher Education in Prison is now looking for a Technical Support Specialist to support and cultivate the growth and implementation of technology within the organization.
What You Will Do
- Install and image desktop computer systems and applications, as well as laptops, within the organization.
- Respond to employee inquiries and assist in troubleshooting and resolving challenges.
- Actively update, maintain and monitor all aspects of network infrastructure.
- Create, manage and maintain users in Microsoft 365.
- Attend in-person meetings with employees when needed to analyze, troubleshoot and diagnose hardware problems.
- Maintain a working log detailing all required system updates, as well as the date of completion.
- Organize and file documentation pertaining to warranties and instructional guides for computer hardware.
- Assist management with training and onboarding new users; along with creating training documentation where necessary.
- Assist primary users with one-on-one support and troubleshooting of Salesforce CRM, and build custom Salesforce reports when requested.
- Provide training and support to program participants with limited technical proficiency to help them become confident and capable using computers for professional and academic purposes.
Who You Are
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field is preferred
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in a user-focused position involving technical knowledge of a company’s products and services
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365 required; Microsoft certifications preferred
- Experience with Salesforce or other comparable CRM platform preferred
- Knowledge of Meraki product line a plus
- Comfortable working in an ever-changing environment with the ability to be flexible when needed
- Ability to prioritize and manage several milestones and projects efficiently
- Strong communicator, compassionate relationship builder, and critical thinker who displays strong judgment, time management skills, and ability to work with minimal supervision
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
- Must demonstrate an ability to engage positively with Hudson Link alumni
- Beliefs regarding corrections and rehabilitation aligned with the mission of Hudson Link
